HIGHLAND FLING MOUNTAIN BIKE MARATHON
One of Australia’s longest running and biggest marathon mountain bike races, the CamelBak Highland Fling brings together a mix of elite riders and weekend warriors to challenge themselves over distances ranging from 23km through to 160km. It’s a test of endurance, skill and stamina.
SYDNEY RUNNING FESTIVAL
Blackmores Sydney Running Festival sees thousands of runners lineup every September to enjoy Australia’s most scenic course. All four events start in Bradfield Park, Milson’s Point travel over the main deck of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and finish at the Sydney Opera House (Marathon, Half Marathon) whilst the Bridge Run and Family Fun Run finish at the Conservatorium of Music, the entrance of the Royal Botanic Gardens.
INTERNATIONAL: LEADVILLE RACE SERIES
The Leadville Trail 100 started with just 45 runners in 1983. The Leadville Race Series now stretches across three months and hosts thousands of racers on foot and on the bike. Endurance athletes worldwide now make the pilgrimage to Leadville, Colorado, with the single goal of competing in a “Race Across the Sky.”
INTERNATIONAL: TERRACYCLE
TerraCycle is a highly-awarded, international upcycling and recycling company that collects difficult-to-recycle packaging and products and repurposes the material into affordable, innovative products. TerraCycle is widely considered the world’s leader in the collection and reuse of non-recyclable, post-consumer waste.
INTERNATIONAL: NATIONAL INTERSCHOLASTIC CYCLING ASSOCIATION
Founded in 2009, the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) develops high school mountain biking programs for student-athletes across the United States. NICA provides leadership, services and governance for local leagues to produce quality mountain bike events, and supports every student-athlete in the development of strong body, strong mind and strong character through their efforts on the bike.
INTERNATIONAL: THE CONSERVATION ALLIANCE
The Conservation Alliance is a group of outdoor industry companies that disburses its collective annual membership dues to grassroots environmental organizations. We direct our funding to community-based campaigns to protect threatened wild habitat, preferably where outdoor enthusiasts recreate. The Alliance was founded in 1989 by industry leaders REI, Patagonia, The North Face, and Kelty, who shared the goal of increasing outdoor industry support for conservation efforts. We now have more than 190 member companies, and plan to disburse $1.65 million in 2015.
